The Quantum range from SolarGard has been designed with appearance and long life in mind.
Quantum uses a sputter coated alloy to maximise the heat reduction available from a less reflective film and it has amazing colour stability.
- There are five grades of standard HP Quantum and another three QSQ with extra layers
- Quantum QSQ films have 2 layers of Quantum separated by aluminium for increased heat reduction
- QSQ films have the SolarGard clear dry adhesive and are only used on flat glass.
- The HP Quantum films have pressure sensitive adhesives and can be used in automotive applications

- The heat reduction is less than that of full reflective films but better than non-reflective films
- Note that the reflection is higher than the light transmission; this results in a dark reflective appearance even though the reflection is much lower than a full reflective film like Silver 20
- High solar absorption increases glass stress
- The layers of this film tend to cause iridescence (rainbow colours) which are visible at night, especially with fluorescent lighting
